My advice for every young person out there: get a plan ASAP. You feel like a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders and the world doesn’t seem NEARLY as scary. Even if it isn’t a complete plan! Be like me and at leasssttt know for a fact what you want to do with your life and how you’re going to do it. And then, have a back up plan or two! You can never be too prepared.
As devastating as losing my grandma was for me, since that day everything has become so much more clear. I’ve been able to create a real, practical, and achievable plan for my life, and figure out how I’m going to accomplish those goals. Before, everything was so, “I think” and “I wish” and “Hopefully.” Now, I KNOW what I want to do, and I KNOW what I will do. And it makes everything just that much easier.
In college, and hopefully at San Diego State (one of the only “hopefully“‘s that still lingers, hahaha) I plan to major in Music: General Performance, and to minor in Early Childhood Education. I’ve decided that during an after college I will really put my everything into my singing and try my hardest to make it in the industry. But, I do realize that its a 1 in a billion shot that I will make it big, and I accept that. So, until I either hit a dead end and realize that it’s not going to go any further, or it stops being my one and only love, I will try my hardest. But when it gets to that point, I want to become a 3rd grade teacher, and also possibly the school music or choir teacher (:
I’ve decided that this plan combines all my loves and passions into one and I believe it is a responsible and practical plan, and for that, I am proud of myself (:
So, as I said, YOUNG PEOPLE: GET A PLAN!
